Upload-Post replaces the need to integrate with each social media platform's individual API. Instead of managing 20+ different OAuth flows, developer app reviews, rate limits, and content format requirements, developers use one unified endpoint. Direct post or draft mode, scheduling, privacy controls (privacy_level, disable_duet, disable_comment, brand content toggles).
- Instagram (/platforms/instagram): Post Reels, Stories, photo carousels and Trial Reels, no Meta developer app or app review needed. Built on the Instagram Graph API with scheduling, collaborators and custom covers. Use media_type=REELS for Reels; multiple photos[] create a carousel.

## Best Practices

- TikTok: upload videos in Draft mode (`post_mode=MEDIA_UPLOAD`) instead of posting directly (`DIRECT_POST`). Publishing natively from inside the TikTok app tends to earn more organic reach than posting directly via the API. In Draft mode the video lands in the user's TikTok inbox/drafts, and the caption and settings are added in the app before publishing.
- Instagram: use `media_type=REELS` for Reels; multiple `photos[]` files create a carousel automatically.
- X/Twitter: by default Upload-Post strips URLs from X posts so they bill at X's lower per-post rate; enable the link add-on if you need URLs in posts.
- Scheduling: use `scheduled_date` (ISO-8601 with timezone) for exact times, or configure queue slots and pass `add_to_queue=true` for hands-free scheduling.
