Generate elsewhere, post here TikTok needs a paid plan

AI TikTok Videos Generate with OpenShorts, publish and schedule with Upload-Post

Two tools, not one. An AI video tool such as OpenShorts turns a long video or a prompt into a vertical clip with subtitles. Upload-Post does not generate video — it takes that finished file, writes or accepts a caption, sets TikTok’s AI-content flag and publishes it now or later.

Who does what in an AI TikTok video generator workflow

The split matters, because you pay for each half separately.

Generation

OpenShorts or another AI video tool

Turns a long video, a script or a prompt into a vertical 9:16 clip with burned-in subtitles. This is a separate product with its own account and its own bill.

Distribution

Upload-Post

Takes the finished .mp4, adds a caption, sets TikTok’s publishing options and the AI-content flag, then posts it now or at a scheduled time — to TikTok and 21 other networks.

OpenShorts is a separate product at openshorts.app, not an Upload-Post feature. Any other generator works just as well — Upload-Post only needs a video file.

How to auto-post AI videos to TikTok

Five steps, and you only do steps 2 and 4 properly once.

Step 1

Generate the clip

Use OpenShorts, Veo, Sora, HeyGen, Creatomate or your own editor. Export vertical, with subtitles, under TikTok’s length limit.

Step 2

Connect TikTok once

Sign in to Upload-Post, connect your TikTok account through the official OAuth flow. Upload-Post holds the connection; no passwords are shared.

Step 3

Write the caption

Write it yourself, or let the built-in AI post generator produce a TikTok caption of up to 150 characters straight from the video.

Step 4

Declare the AI content

Turn on the AI-generated flag in the composer, or send tiktok_is_ai_generated from the API, so the post carries TikTok’s AI-content label.

Step 5

Schedule or publish

Post immediately, queue it, or schedule it for a specific time. The same call can fan the clip out to Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

Want the caption written for you? The AI post generator watches the clip and returns a TikTok caption with hashtags, plus Instagram and YouTube copy for the same video.

Is posting AI videos to TikTok free?

No, and we would rather say so here than after you sign up.

TikTok publishing requires a paid plan, from $24/mo

The Upload-Post Free plan is real — $0 forever, 10 uploads a month, 2 profiles, full API access, no credit card — but TikTok is not included in it. To publish to TikTok you need the Basic plan at $24/mo, or $16/mo billed annually, which also gives you unlimited uploads and 5 profiles.

What you can do on the free plan

Publish AI videos to Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Pinterest, Reddit and Bluesky, use the API, schedule posts, read analytics and run 10 AI caption generations a month. Plenty to test the whole pipeline before paying for TikTok.

The generator is billed separately

Whatever makes the video — OpenShorts or anything else — charges you on its own plan, usually per generation or per credit. Budget that first: at any real posting cadence it costs more than the publishing tool.

Every plan side by side on the pricing comparison, and the TikTok integration itself on the TikTok page.

TikTok’s rules on AI-generated content

Disclosure is not optional, and automation is not an excuse for skipping it.

AI content must be labelled

TikTok requires realistic AI-generated or significantly edited content to be disclosed. Content made inside TikTok’s own AI tools is labelled automatically; anything uploaded from a third-party tool is on you to declare. Upload-Post exposes that flag in the composer and as an API field so an automated pipeline can set it every time.

Real people are off limits

TikTok prohibits synthetic media of private individuals without consent, and of public figures used for endorsements or anything political. An AI avatar of a real person is the fastest way to lose an account.

Spam and duplication rules still apply

Posting the same clip repeatedly, or flooding the feed with near-identical templated videos, is treated as spam regardless of how it was made. Scheduling helps you be consistent, not repetitive.

Music is not automatically cleared

A track that the in-app library clears for you is not necessarily cleared when the audio is baked into a file you upload from outside. Use licensed or original audio in generated clips.

These rules move. Check TikTok’s own community guidelines and synthetic-media policy before you scale a pipeline — this page reflects them as of September 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Last updated September 2026.

Is there a free AI TikTok video generator?

Generators exist with free tiers, and you can use any of them with Upload-Post — but the posting side is not free for TikTok. Upload-Post has a free plan of 10 uploads a month, and TikTok is explicitly excluded from it: publishing to TikTok requires a paid plan starting at $24/mo ($16/mo billed annually). Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest, Reddit and Bluesky do work on the free plan.

Does Upload-Post generate TikTok videos?

No. Upload-Post has no text-to-video model and never renders a video. It publishes, schedules and analyses. The clip is made by a separate tool — OpenShorts, Veo, Sora, HeyGen, Creatomate or your own editor — and Upload-Post takes the finished file to TikTok and 21 other networks. Anything claiming both halves in one product is usually reselling somebody else’s renderer.

How do I auto-post AI videos to TikTok?

Connect your TikTok account to Upload-Post once through OAuth, then send the video file and caption to the upload endpoint with a scheduled time — from the dashboard, from the API, from n8n or Make, or from an AI assistant through the MCP server. The same request can also publish to Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, so one generated clip covers three surfaces.

Do I have to tell TikTok the video is AI-generated?

Yes, when it is realistic synthetic or significantly altered content. TikTok requires that disclosure and applies an AI-generated label. Upload-Post carries an AI-content flag in the composer and as an API field, so your automation can set it on every upload instead of relying on someone remembering.

How many AI TikToks can I schedule?

Paid plans have unlimited uploads, so the ceiling is TikTok’s own posting limits and your generator’s quota, not Upload-Post. The Basic plan at $24/mo covers 5 profiles, which means 5 TikTok accounts alongside 5 accounts on every other platform. Be careful with volume: TikTok treats near-identical repeated uploads as spam.

Can an AI assistant do the whole thing for me?

Partly. Connect Upload-Post as an MCP server and Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini can write the caption, set the schedule, publish the clip and report back on how it did. It still cannot render the video — you hand it a file, or you point it at a generator that produces one.

Bring the clip. We handle the posting.
