The Publishing-First Unipile Alternative If you need to post, not to read inboxes
Unipile is a unified messaging API: LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram DMs plus email and calendar, billed per connected account from €5.00 per account per month with a €49.00 monthly minimum. If what you actually need is to publish to TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Reddit and 18 more networks, that is a different product. Upload-Post is a flat $24/month with unlimited posts on 22 platforms.

What is Unipile, and is it a publishing API?
Unipile (unipile.com) is a unified API for messaging and inboxes, and it is good at that job. There is one pay-as-you-go offer, billed per connected account with no usage-based fees on top: tiers run up to 10 accounts, 11 to 50, 51 to 200, 201 to 1,000, 1,000 to 5,000 and 5,000-plus, and the 11-to-50 tier is priced at EUR 5.00 per account per month. The minimum is EUR 49.00 a month, which includes up to 10 accounts, and there is a 7-day free trial with no credit card. Every connected account counts whatever the channel; Unipile's own example is 3 email accounts plus 2 LinkedIn plus 6 WhatsApp, which is 11 accounts at EUR 5.00 for EUR 55.00 a month. Coverage is messaging-first: LinkedIn, Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram, with X and Messenger listed as coming soon, plus Gmail, Outlook and IMAP email and Google and Outlook calendar. The endpoints send and read DMs, fetch profiles, push webhooks and host a white-label auth flow. So the honest answer to the question people land here with: Unipile is not a social publishing API. It will not post a video to TikTok, a Short to YouTube, a pin to Pinterest or a thread to Reddit, and that is by design rather than an omission.
What does per-connected-account pricing cost?
Unipile figures come from its published tiers and its own worked example. Upload-Post figures are the list price of the smallest plan that fits.
| Scenario | Unipile | Upload-Post |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum monthly commitment | EUR 49.00/mo, up to 10 accounts | $0 free plan, then $24/mo |
| Unipile's own example: 3 email + 2 LinkedIn + 6 WhatsApp | 11 accounts × EUR 5.00 = EUR 55.00/mo | Not comparable: Upload-Post does not do email or WhatsApp inboxes |
| 50 connected accounts | 50 × EUR 5.00 = EUR 250.00/mo on the 11-50 tier | $147/mo Advanced, 75 profiles |
| 25 client profiles publishing to 22 networks each | Not covered: no publishing API | $50/mo Professional, whitelabel included |
| Unlimited posts across 22 networks | Not covered | $24/mo Basic |
Unipile publishes in EUR and Upload-Post in USD, and we do not convert between them, so read each column on its own. More importantly, these two products do different jobs: the table shows the cost of each meter, not a like-for-like swap.

Why do teams choose Upload-Post over Unipile?
Almost always because they picked the wrong category first: they needed publishing and evaluated a messaging API. Four things follow from that.
Built to Publish
One endpoint per content type, 22 networks behind it. Video to TikTok and Shorts, pins to Pinterest, threads to Reddit, posts to Google Business. None of that is in a messaging API.
Flat, Not Per Account
Upload-Post charges per plan, and a profile covers one account on every platform. Unipile's meter ticks for each mailbox, LinkedIn login or WhatsApp number you connect.
Video Pipeline Included
The FFmpeg API crops, transcodes and reformats per platform, so one source file works for TikTok, Reels, Shorts and LinkedIn without a separate encoding service.
Native No-Code Modules
An official n8n node and a native Make module, so a marketing workflow can publish without anyone writing HTTP calls.

When should you choose Upload-Post over Unipile?
You Need to Publish, Not to Read
This is the whole decision. If your product schedules content, repurposes video or posts on behalf of customers, Unipile does not cover it at any price. Upload-Post does it on 22 networks for $24 a month.
Your Bill Shouldn't Track Connected Accounts
Unipile bills per connected account, so growth in connected inboxes is growth in cost. Upload-Post is flat per plan: 5 profiles on Basic, 25 on Professional, 225 on Business, each covering all 22 platforms.
You Post Video
Publishing video means encoding it correctly for each destination. Upload-Post handles that through the FFmpeg API, so you upload one master file rather than maintaining per-platform renditions.
Run Both If You Do Inbox Work
The honest recommendation: these are complementary, not rivals. If you need LinkedIn or WhatsApp conversations, email threads and calendars, Unipile is the right tool and you should keep it. Use Upload-Post for the publishing half.
