How to upload videos to TikTok with Zapier From Google Drive, Dropbox, Airtable or any trigger

Zapier’s TikTok apps are built for ads: TikTok Lead Generation only has a New Lead trigger and TikTok Conversions only sends events, so neither can post a video. To publish to TikTok from a Zap, add an app that uploads to TikTok. Upload-Post’s Zapier app has an Upload Video action: pick TikTok as the platform, map the video and the caption, done.

Connect TikTok to Upload-Post

Create an Upload-Post account, add a profile and connect your TikTok account to it. TikTok publishing is included from the Basic plan.

Pick a trigger in Zapier

Anything that produces a video works: a new file in a Google Drive or Dropbox folder, a new Airtable record, a new Google Sheets row with a video URL, or a schedule.

Add the Upload-Post action

Search for Upload-Post, choose Upload Video and connect your Upload-Post account when Zapier asks.

Map the fields and test

Set the profile, choose TikTok as the platform, map the video and the caption from the trigger, run the test and turn the Zap on.

Drop a finished clip into a folder and it is on TikTok minutes later. Use the file name or a Drive field as the caption.

Trigger when a record’s status changes to Approved, so nothing goes out before someone signs it off.

When the Zap does not post to TikTok

The four things to check first.

TikTok is not offered for your account

TikTok publishing starts on Upload-Post’s Basic plan. On the Free plan, pick another network or upgrade, then run the Zap again.

The video cannot be fetched

Upload-Post downloads the video from the URL the trigger passes, so it must be a direct link anyone can open. Google Drive links are supported.

TikTok rejects the length

Through the API TikTok accepts videos from 3 seconds to 10 minutes. Vertical 9:16 avoids black bars.

The privacy option you chose is missing

TikTok decides per account which privacy levels it allows. Leave the default, or pick one TikTok offers for that account.

Exact times and several platforms in one step

For a publish time or several networks at once, use Webhooks by Zapier with a POST to the Upload-Post API. Each platform[] line adds a network, and scheduled_date publishes later.

Zapier and TikTok: frequently asked questions

Does Zapier have a TikTok integration?

Yes, two, and both are for ads. TikTok Lead Generation has one trigger, New Lead, that passes leads from TikTok lead ads into your Zaps. TikTok Conversions has one action, Send Lead Event, that sends events back to TikTok. Neither can upload or publish a video.

Can Zapier post videos to TikTok?

Yes, through an app that publishes to TikTok. Upload-Post’s Zapier app has an Upload Video action: set the platform to TikTok, map the video and the caption from your trigger, and every run publishes a TikTok.

Why can’t I find an “upload video” action in Zapier’s TikTok app?

Because Zapier’s TikTok apps connect TikTok’s ads tools, not the Content Posting API. Publishing goes through an app with TikTok posting access, such as Upload-Post.

Can I schedule TikTok posts with Zapier?

Yes. Start the Zap from Schedule by Zapier, or send the post through Webhooks by Zapier to the Upload-Post API with a scheduled_date to publish at an exact time.

Can the same Zap post to Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts too?

Yes. Add one Upload Video action per platform, or send a single Webhooks by Zapier request to the Upload-Post API with several platform[] values.

Can Zapier post TikTok photo carousels?

Yes. Use Upload-Post’s Upload Photo action with TikTok as the platform and pass several images; they publish as a TikTok photo post.

Do I need a TikTok developer account?

No. Upload-Post publishes through its own approved TikTok app. You connect your TikTok account once in Upload-Post and the Zap does the rest.

Which Upload-Post plan do I need for TikTok?

TikTok publishing is included from the Basic plan, $24 a month or $16 a month on annual billing, with unlimited uploads. The Free plan covers the other networks.
