How do I connect Upload-Post to Grok Bot?

A few minutes from a new connector to your first post published by a Bot.

Step 1

Add the custom MCP connector

Grok Bot accepts any MCP server reachable over the public internet (grok.com/connectors). Add a custom MCP connector with the URL https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp and sign in with OAuth, or store Authorization: ApiKey YOUR_API_KEY as a Bot secret.

Step 2

Paste the setup prompt

Grok auto-discovers the Upload-Post tools. Paste the setup prompt below into your Bot chat so it reads the docs, sticks to real tools and asks before anything goes public.

Step 3

Ask your Bot to post

Start with "List my Upload-Post profiles" to confirm the connection, then describe what to post, where and when. The Bot asks for approval before publishing.

Grok Bot setup prompt
You are connected to the Upload-Post MCP server
(https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp). Follow these rules:

1. Read the Upload-Post MCP docs first:
   https://docs.upload-post.com/guides/mcp-server-integration/
2. Only use tools the server actually exposes. Never invent tool names or parameters.
3. Confirm the connection with a read-only call: list my Upload-Post profiles and the accounts connected to each.
4. Before publishing, scheduling, replying or sending a DM, always show me the caption, the target accounts and the date and time (with timezone), and wait for my approval.
5. After publishing, check the upload status and report the result for each platform.

Setup details, tool reference and auth options are in the MCP server docs. The server is open source: Upload-Post/upload-post-mcp.

Official plugin: Grok Bot's plugin catalog is the Cursor Marketplace. The official Upload-Post plugin has been submitted to the Cursor Marketplace and is in review; until it is published, the custom MCP connector above is the supported way to connect.

One connector powers every channel your Bots run

Connect your social accounts to Upload-Post once. Any Bot with the connector can then post to all of them from its own cloud computer.

What can Grok Bot do with Upload-Post?

Every capability maps to documented Upload-Post tools. The Bot picks the right one from your prompt.

Agent ready

Upload-Post returns structured results, so a Bot can plan, run and verify multi-step posting work on its own.

Publish anywhere

Upload videos, photos and text to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest, Reddit, Bluesky and Google Business.

Schedule and queue

"Post this tomorrow at 6pm" becomes a scheduled post. Bots can also add posts to your queue and check upload status.

Read analytics

Ask which posts performed best this week and the Bot pulls the numbers from your connected accounts.

Comments and DMs

Read new comments, draft replies and handle direct messages, with your approval before anything is sent.

Media and FFmpeg

Stage media files and trim, convert or re-encode video with the FFmpeg tools before it goes out.

What is Grok Bot?

Grok Bot is the always-on AI teammate product from xAI and Cursor. You give each Bot a job and it works on its own cloud computer, pinging you only when it needs approval.

Its own cloud computer

Every Bot works on a persistent cloud computer, so posting jobs keep running when your laptop is closed.

Routines

Turn any task into a schedule. The Bot drafts, schedules and reports on your social content without being asked again.

Approvals built in

Bots ask for your approval before acting on outside systems, so you review each post before Upload-Post publishes it.

Is Grok Bot the same as Grok?

No. xAI has three products with similar names, and this page is about Grok Bot.

Product What it is Where it runs
Grok xAI's chatbot on X and grok.com In a chat window, while you type
Grok Bot Always-on agents from xAI and Cursor, each with its own cloud computer 24/7 in the cloud, with routines and approvals
Grok Build xAI's coding agent and CLI In your terminal, while you work

How do Grok Bot routines automate posting?

Save any posting task as a routine and the Bot runs it on schedule from its cloud computer. With Upload-Post connected, a routine can pick up new clips, draft captions, schedule them across your accounts and report back, while you are offline.

  • Reads new files from a folder on the Bot's cloud computer
  • Schedules each post through Upload-Post with its own date and accounts
  • Asks for approval before publishing, then reports what it scheduled

Grok Bot and Upload-Post: frequently asked questions

Last updated September 2026.

What is Grok Bot?

Grok Bot is the always-on AI teammate product from xAI and Cursor. Each Bot works on its own persistent cloud computer, uses connectors, runs routines on a schedule and asks for your approval before acting on outside systems.

Is Grok Bot the same as Grok?

No. Grok is xAI's chatbot on X and grok.com. Grok Bot is a separate product from xAI and Cursor for handing multi-step work to always-on agents. This page is about connecting Upload-Post to Grok Bot.

What is the difference between Grok Bot and Grok Build?

Grok Build is xAI's coding agent and CLI that runs in your terminal while you work. Grok Bot runs Bots in the cloud that keep working after you close your laptop, which is what you want for scheduled social media work.

How do I add Upload-Post to Grok Bot?

Add https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp as a custom MCP connector (grok.com/connectors) and sign in with OAuth, or store Authorization: ApiKey YOUR_API_KEY as a Bot secret. Then paste the setup prompt from this page. An official Upload-Post plugin for the Cursor Marketplace, which is Grok Bot's plugin catalog, is in review; until it is listed, the custom connector is the way to go.

Does Grok Bot need my social media passwords?

No. You connect each social account to Upload-Post once, and Upload-Post holds those connections. The Bot only holds OAuth access to your Upload-Post account or your Upload-Post API key as a Bot secret.

Can Grok Bot post to social media while I am offline?

Yes. Save the task as a routine and the Bot runs it on schedule from its cloud computer. Posts scheduled through Upload-Post also go out at their set time on their own.

Which social media platforms can Grok Bot post to?

Any account you connect in Upload-Post: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest, Reddit, Bluesky and Google Business.

Is it free?

The connector is free and the MCP server is open source. The Upload-Post free plan includes 10 uploads a month with no credit card; TikTok is not included on the free plan. Grok Bot is a separate product from xAI and Cursor with its own plans.

The Bot cannot see the Upload-Post tools or says authentication failed. What now?

Check the connector URL is exactly https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp. With OAuth, reconnect and approve access again. With an API key, make sure the Bot secret is the full header value ApiKey YOUR_API_KEY with a key from app.upload-post.com, API Keys. Then ask the Bot to list your Upload-Post profiles.
