How to connect Upload-Post to Microsoft Scout

You add it once in the Scout desktop app. It takes about three minutes.

Step 1

Open the MCP servers list

In the Scout desktop app, go to Extensions, then MCP Servers, and choose Add Server.

Step 2

Enter the remote URL

Choose Remote URL and enter https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp. You can name the server Upload-Post.

Step 3

Sign in or paste a key

Sign in with your Upload-Post account through OAuth, or paste your Upload-Post API key as the bearer token.

Step 4

Allow the server

Open Settings, Manage Permissions, MCP Servers and allow Upload-Post. Then paste the prompt below into a new chat.

Scout first message
Use the Upload-Post MCP server (https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp) for every request about posting, scheduling, analytics, comments or DMs on my social media accounts.

- Only use tools the server actually exposes. Never invent tool names or parameters.
- Before you publish, schedule, reply or send a DM, show me the caption, the accounts and the date and time (with timezone), and wait for my OK.
- After publishing, check the upload status and tell me the result for each platform.

Start by listing my Upload-Post profiles and the social accounts connected to each.

Setup details, tool reference and auth options are in the MCP server docs. The server is open source: Upload-Post/upload-post-mcp.

Preview labels: The menu path above comes from the Scout preview documentation. If your build names things differently, look for the MCP servers list and an option to add a server by URL.

One connection powers every channel

Connect your social accounts to Upload-Post once. Scout can then post to all of them from the same chat.

What can Scout do with Upload-Post?

Every capability maps to documented Upload-Post tools. Scout picks the right one from your request.

Just ask in plain language

Tell Scout what to post, where and when. It picks the right Upload-Post tool for the job.

Publish anywhere

Upload videos, photos and text to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest, Reddit, Bluesky and Google Business.

Schedule and queue

"Post this on Monday at 9am" becomes a scheduled post. Scout can also add posts to your queue and check their status.

Media and FFmpeg

Stage media files and trim, convert or re-encode video with the FFmpeg tools before it goes out.

What is Microsoft Scout?

Microsoft Scout is Microsoft's first "Autopilot" agent, announced at Build 2026 in June. It is built with OpenClaw and can use MCP servers to act in other services on your behalf.

  • Desktop app for Windows and macOS
  • Built with OpenClaw, the open-source personal agent
  • Preview only: not generally available yet
  • Needs Frontier program enrollment and a Microsoft 365 Copilot license
  • Your tenant admin enables it through an Intune policy

What is the Upload-Post MCP?

The Upload-Post MCP is a hosted Model Context Protocol server that gives AI agents your connected social accounts as tools. It is the same server behind our ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot integrations.

  • Hosted MCP server at https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP
  • OAuth 2.1 sign-in, or your Upload-Post API key as a bearer token
  • Scout discovers your profiles and connected accounts
  • Tools for uploads, status, scheduling and queue, analytics, profiles, pages and boards, comments, DMs, media staging and FFmpeg
  • Open source: github.com/Upload-Post/upload-post-mcp
Upload-Post server
Name Upload-Post
URL https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp
Auth OAuth 2.1 (PKCE)
   or
Bearer YOUR_API_KEY
         (app.upload-post.com, API Keys)

What can you ask Scout to post?

No commands to memorize. Just describe what you want.

Cross-post LinkedIn, X, Threads

“Post this product update to LinkedIn, X and Threads tomorrow at 10am.”

Analytics All connected accounts

“Which of our posts got the most engagement this month?”

Community Your last video

“Read the new comments on our last video and draft replies for me to review.”

Discover Upload-Post profiles

“List my Upload-Post profiles and the accounts connected to each.”

What should IT admins know?

Scout runs inside your Microsoft 365 tenant, so your admin controls who gets it and which MCP servers it can use.

Admins decide access

Scout is turned on per tenant by an admin with an Intune policy, for users enrolled in the Frontier program with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.

MCP servers can be restricted

Your admin may limit which MCP servers Scout can add. If Add Server is missing or blocked, ask them to allow https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp.

Pick the auth that fits

OAuth ties the connection to one Upload-Post account. An API key works too; use a key you can revoke from app.upload-post.com at any time.

Can Scout post on a schedule?

Yes. Scout hands the schedule to Upload-Post, and Upload-Post publishes each post at the set time, even if your computer is off.

Batch a week

One request can create several scheduled posts, each with its own date, time and accounts.

Use your queue

Ask Scout to add posts to your Upload-Post queue instead of picking every time by hand.

Check what is queued

Ask what is scheduled and Scout reads it back from Upload-Post, so you can change plans before anything goes out.

Is it safe to let Scout post for you?

You choose the auth, you allow the server, and Scout checks with you before anything goes public.

How does Scout compare to other AI assistants?

The same Upload-Post server works everywhere. What changes is how you connect it.

Assistant How you connect Upload-Post Where it runs
Microsoft Scout Extensions, MCP Servers, Add Server with the remote URL; OAuth or API key as bearer token Desktop app for Windows and macOS (preview)
OpenClaw The Upload-Post skill on ClawHub, or openclaw mcp add with the MCP URL Self-hosted on your own machine
GitHub Copilot MCP config block in VS Code with your API key VS Code, Copilot Chat in Agent mode
Claude Cowork Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector with the MCP URL Claude Desktop on macOS and Windows
ChatGPT Official Upload-Post app in the ChatGPT directory, or a custom MCP connector chatgpt.com and the ChatGPT apps

Which social media platforms can Scout post to?

Every account you connect in Upload-Post. Each platform has its own guide with formats and rules.

How much does it cost to use Scout with Upload-Post?

The connector costs nothing extra.

Upload-Post connector

Free. The MCP server is open source and works with every Upload-Post plan.

Upload-Post free plan

10 uploads a month, no credit card. TikTok is not included on the free plan.

Microsoft Scout

Preview only. You need Frontier program enrollment and a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, and your tenant admin has to enable it.

Troubleshooting the Scout connection

The five things that usually go wrong, and how to fix them.

I do not see Scout at all

Scout is a preview. Your account needs Frontier program enrollment and a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, and your tenant admin has to enable it with an Intune policy. Upload-Post cannot turn it on for you.

Add Server is missing or greyed out

Your admin may restrict MCP servers. Ask them to allow https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp. Menu labels can also differ between preview builds, so look for the MCP Servers list under Extensions.

The OAuth sign-in does not finish

Remove the server and add it again, then approve access with the Upload-Post account that owns your social accounts. If it still fails, paste your Upload-Post API key as the bearer token instead.

Scout does not use the Upload-Post tools

Check that Upload-Post is allowed in Settings, Manage Permissions, MCP Servers. Then paste the prompt from this page and ask Scout to list your Upload-Post profiles first.

A social account is missing

Connect that account to a profile at app.upload-post.com first, then tell Scout "List my Upload-Post profiles again."

Use Upload-Post with other AI agents

One Upload-Post account, the same MCP server, any assistant.

Frequently asked questions

Microsoft Scout + social media, answered. Last updated September 2026.

How does Microsoft Scout work with Upload-Post?

Upload-Post runs a hosted MCP server at https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp. You add it to Scout as a remote MCP server, sign in with OAuth or paste your API key, and allow it in Scout's permissions. After that Scout can publish, schedule and analyze posts on your connected social accounts.

How do I connect Upload-Post to Microsoft Scout?

Open Extensions, MCP Servers, Add Server, choose Remote URL and enter https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp. Sign in with OAuth or paste your Upload-Post API key as the bearer token, then allow the server in Settings, Manage Permissions, MCP Servers. These labels come from the preview and may differ in your build.

Is Upload-Post a built-in Scout extension?

No. You add Upload-Post yourself as a custom remote MCP server using the steps on this page.

Do I need an Upload-Post API key?

Not if you use OAuth: you sign in with your Upload-Post account and approve access. If you prefer a key, create one at app.upload-post.com under API Keys and paste it as the bearer token.

Can my IT admin block this?

Yes. Scout is enabled per tenant through an Intune policy, and admins may restrict which MCP servers users can add. If you cannot add Upload-Post, ask your admin to allow the server URL.

What does OpenClaw have to do with Scout?

Scout is built with OpenClaw, the open-source personal agent. If you run OpenClaw yourself, you can connect Upload-Post there too with the Upload-Post skill on ClawHub or the same MCP server.

Which social media platforms can Scout post to?

Any account you connect in Upload-Post: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest, Reddit, Bluesky and Google Business.

Is it free?

The connector is free. The Upload-Post free plan includes 10 uploads a month with no credit card; TikTok is not included on the free plan. Scout itself needs a Microsoft 365 Copilot license and Frontier program enrollment.
