How to connect Upload-Post to Perplexity Computer

You add the connector once in Settings. It takes a couple of minutes.

Step 1

Open Connectors

In Perplexity, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector. Custom remote MCP connectors are available on Pro, Max and Enterprise.

Step 2

Fill in the server

Name it Upload-Post, paste https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp and pick Streamable HTTP as the transport.

Step 3

Choose how to sign in

Pick OAuth and approve access with your Upload-Post account, or pick API key and paste the key from app.upload-post.com, API Keys.

Step 4

Give Computer a task

Paste the setup prompt below into a Computer task and ask it to list your Upload-Post profiles. Then ask for real work.

1. First, list my Upload-Post profiles and the social accounts connected to each.
2. Only use tools the Upload-Post connector actually exposes. Never invent tool names or parameters.
3. Before you publish, schedule, reply or send a DM, show me the caption, the accounts and the date and time (with timezone), and wait for my OK.
4. After publishing, check the upload status and tell me the result for each platform.

OAuth or API key: OAuth is the simplest option: you sign in once and there is no key to manage. If you pick API key, create one at app.upload-post.com, API Keys. Upload-Post accepts it as a Bearer token or as Authorization: ApiKey YOUR_API_KEY.

Troubleshooting the Perplexity Computer connector

The five things that usually go wrong, and how to fix them.

I cannot find the option to add a custom connector

Custom remote MCP connectors need Perplexity Pro, Max or Enterprise. Look in Settings, Connectors. The exact button labels may differ slightly in your account. On Enterprise, ask your admin if you still do not see it.

The connection fails when I save it

Check the URL is exactly https://mcp.upload-post.com/mcp and the transport is Streamable HTTP. Then save again and complete the sign-in.

I want to use an API key instead of OAuth

Choose API key as the authentication and paste the key from app.upload-post.com, API Keys. Upload-Post accepts the raw key as a Bearer token, and the header Authorization: ApiKey YOUR_API_KEY if the form asks for a full header.

Computer drafts the post but does not publish it

Tell Computer to use the Upload-Post connector for every social media step, then repeat the task. Asking it to list your Upload-Post profiles first confirms the tools are available.

A social account is missing

Connect that account to a profile at app.upload-post.com first, then tell Computer "List my Upload-Post profiles again."
